A PARTY is the perfect opportunity to try out a more daring make-up look than you might normally, and the autumn/winter 2012-13 catwalks were rife with beauty inspiration for the season’s soirees. Or perhaps you’re going for a more smouldering look – Gucci‘s vermilion lips or Jason Wu‘s feline emerald eyes should do the trick. So, whatever you […]

The Top Fashion Trends of 2012

December 27, 2012 by The CoF

It’s never quite clear what causes something to make the successful transformation from runway look to ubiquitous item in stores and in closets. This year, it was a particular playful time for women’s style: Futuristic ensembles were a modern and welcome addition to any wardrobe, sweet pastel hues became the unexpected color choice on the red carpet, and an extra sparkle in embellished or baroque touches was spotted on everything from collars to bags. Merry Christmas,Joy To The World

December 24, 2012 by The CoF

Saying “Merry Christmas” is second nature to us during the holiday season. Let’s discover some other traditions and how they started. The tradition of sending Christmas cards started in 1843 in England. Before then, greetings were written by hand, and it became almost impossible to send one to everyone you knew. It started as a way to remind people about the need for taking care of the poor. The first card was illustrated by John Callcott Horsley, had the phrase, […]

Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2013 Campaign

December 23, 2012 by The CoF

For the Spring 2013 campaign, Miu Miu took a page out of parent brand Prada‘s book, choosing to forego the hard casting decisions by hiring every girl that made it to the short list. It was a varied bunch of model types: the only thing Adriana Lima, Doutzen Kroes, Arizona Muse, Malgosia Bela, Bette Franke, and Martha Hunt have in common is that they’ve now all been photographed by Inez & Vinoodh for Miu Miu’s Spring 2013 ad campaign. December 22, 2012 by The CoF

Melvin Sokolsky (born in 1938) is an American photographer and film director. Born in New York City, Sokolsky had no formal training in photography, but started to use his father’s box camera at about the age of ten. Always analytical, he started to realize the role that emulsion played as he compared his own photographs with those his father had kept in albums through the years. “I could never make my photographs of Butch the dog look like the pearly […]

Lara Stone’s ability to maintain her model poise, even while kicking some serious butt leaves us in awe.
