Carla Sozzani’s influential multi-brand boutique 10 Corso Como will open its first store in China in the fall of next year.

The Italian retailer said Tuesday that it has inked a deal with China’s Trendy International Group to open a nearly 27,000-square-foot store in Shanghai on Nanjing West Road.

“Partnering with Trendy International Group, 10 Corso Como is embarking on its first venture into the world’s second largest luxury market, Greater China. With its first store in Shanghai, 10 Corso Como will bring Chinese consumers skillfully edited choices to inspire and provoke curiosity. A consistent flow of new designers, artists and writers will be brought to the public’s attention, offering fresh ideas on a sophisticated lifestyle,” the retailer said.

A group of investors led by LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton-backed fund L Capital Asia bought a minority stake in Trendy International Group, a Chinese contemporary clothing company, in February of this year.

Trendy, based in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou, owns four fashion brands including Ochirly, which is one of China’s leading domestic labels. Ochirly targets young women and has fashions reminiscent of Zara or Topshop.

Earlier this year 10 Corso Como opened its second location in Seoul in the Myeongdong Lotte department store. The store’s original Tokyo outpost in Aoyama, which was operated with Comme des Garcons, closed its doors in February. Sozzani’s store now has a home on the 6th floor of Dover Street Market in Ginza.
