Maison Lejaby Couture will be teaming with the world famous Lido dancers to headline the luxury lingerie label’s first of several fashion shows in Paris, beginning on Saturday. The opening catwalk show will be staged at the Maison Lejaby Couture salon and showrooms at 5 Rue Royale at 12:30 p.m., followed by several presentations throughout the afternoon and evening, as well as several presentations on Sunday. The shows will be staged for retailers, private clients and the media. Each presentation will showcase 30 styles of lingerie, corsetry, beachwear and bras with coordinating undies that are detailed with dressmaker touches in luxurious embroideries and fabrics such as French lace and silk.
“As we are still a small fashion house, we thought we must do something different for the inspiration of the collection. A third of the collection will be presented by the Lido girls, who were immediately seduced by the idea of modeling a collection of couture lingerie,” said Alain Prost, chief executive officer of the newly created Maison Lejaby company. “Our salon is a very special place, a beautiful Parisian apartment inspired by the French Maison de Couture of the Forties and Fifties here women can come and see the collections, try on the products and buy directly there.”
Prost, a former ceo of Bologna, Italy-based La Perla, bought the $66 million Lejaby heritage brand as part of a consortium in January 2012.
