MARIOS SCHWAB has unveiled his debut lingerie line, Kallisti, for the first time and we have the full collection to show you exclusively, here. The range launches on asos.com on Monday January 28 and forms part of the online store’s designer platform, ASOS Inc, which gives emerging fashion names the opportunity to grow their businesses.

“I designed Kallisti after realising that there is a gap in the market for beautiful, minimal yet desirable design,” Schwab told us. “The detailing is contemporary with a hint of traditional elements; the intricate techniques used for the construction of each piece will appeal to the woman who likes to reveal and/or combine her lingerie as part of her outfit. Lingerie can be very overwhelming, so the choice of materials is key. The design is simple, yet very directional.”

The Greek-born designer first presented the collection to members of the fashion press during London Fashion Week in September 2012. As with Schwab’s mainline, the offering juxtaposes soft and hard – featuring sequins, sheer paneling and spider web-inspired embroidery.

“The Marios Schwab label takes inspiration from the body – literally, and so the Kallisti lingerie collection is an extension of this inspiration and also the brand history as my father was an underwear engineer,” he said. “The aesthetic of each design can be combined with garments that are limiting, allowing it to become part of the body.”

The range will grow each season, with a wider international distribution planned for next season. Lingerie has always been an area the designer has wanted to pursue.

“Going back to the roots of Marios Schwab, this project has enabled me to go back to my creative history with my dad and bring forward traditional aesthetical designs,” he said. “I have enjoyed the challenge that this project has brought to the business.”
