Lately we saw Vogue the italian, british, french and american editions embracing the curves of Kate Upton!
Here at The CoF I try to promote a healthy vision of fashion by showing that beautiful doesn’t have nothing to do with being thin, in The CoF Against Pro-Anorexia!Here is an article from the British Vogue where Kate Upton is talking about the weight issue:
“KATE UPTON has been hailed as a “real” woman and a role model for today’s young girls, but rather than feeling the pressure she says she feels encouraged.
“Those are the comments that really make me want to continue doing what I do… It’s really motivating to know that I’m helping people look at their life in a healthy way, just by living my life by example,” she said. “I always try and work out and eat healthy throughout my life so I don’t have to do anything drastic before shoots. My schedule just doesn’t allow it. I never know where I’m coming from, or what’s happening, or how long the plane ride will be.”
But Upton says she can recognise the pressure young girls feel to lose weight.
“For girls there’s always pressure. Even if I was in college, or if I was doing a different job. Anywhere in life, for girls there’s pressure to keep your weight and to keep yourself feeling and looking good,” she said. “So, for me to do that in the public eye is definitely a lot, but I have to have the right outlook on it… If someone feels confident in their body, it should all work out.”
And despite having appeared in several international issues of Vogue, including her turn on the cover of British Vogue in January, Upton says she has no desire to walk in fashion shows.
“Fashion shows were just never part of my goals,” she told New York Magazine. “It’s not that I don’t like them. It’s just that I never really found the need to walk in them… For some girls, the dream is to walk in a show, so I feel really happy for whoever is reaching their ultimate goal.”
Encouraging to see a model being a real woman. Now that’s what a role model is all about!
Beyonce’s half time show for the Super Bowl was inspiring. The moment I saw her I posted how grateful I was to see a full figured women with confidence. Times seem to be changing for the better.
I recently did a talk about the modelling industry and how important models like Kate Upton are! I loved that issue and i love her!

I wouldn’t say she is a great role model for ALL young girls per say…I mean, some of the things she has done for photo-shoots (sports illustrated, GQ etc) have been quite risqué for younger girls to be viewing and ‘looking up to’ ? and I mean, she is so young herself !
But her confidence I suppose is something to look up to
nevertheless she is pretty and made quite the career for herself.
