“Symmetry is the ultimate goal,” architect Chakib Richani says of the apartment he conceived for fashion designer Elie Saab in Paris.

An Empire-style chandelier and rows of candles illuminate the dining room. The custom stainless-steel Wing table “is a contemporary touch to a classical room,” says Richani, who designed it.

Mirrored screens line a wall in the master bedroom. “My basic design statement is to add character through new elements that repeat, distort and attract in their own right, leaving the architectural elements untouched,” he explains.
