If the bikini season for women can be a traumatic experience for a curvy lady can sometimes become a nightmare: Robyn Lawley ,the famous plus-size model is sick of not feeling comfortable at the beach. With her experience in the fashion world, that led her to be face of Ralph Lauren and the protagonist of a cover of Italian Vogue, Robyn has decided to create her own line of swimwear.
“I’m an Australian girl, I often go to the beach and I swim since I was born. I hate to think that at age of 22-23 years ,I felt uncomfortable with what I was wearing.” Word of a girl size 46(italian size) that more than a model she considered herself a normal girl. And she has the support of the global datas: the majority of women is above 42(italian size) then why continue to choose smaller sizes?
“The line of costumes that I designed is for every size, not for the so-called plus-size,” said the model. And so was born a playful collection, which supports the physical and wraps it in the sweetest way possible while remaining fashionable. “I hate the term plus-size has a negative connotation, it is true, for us is a way of identifying models in the real world, but a woman should not be defined as such. I feel a normal size: want this to be a message to all women who have never felt comfortable in a bathing suit. ”
The line will be available in August 2013.
I admire her courage and power!
I am honestly starting to think it has nothing to do with a body why we don’t feel comfortable. And it is not also about how smart we are. It is about ourselves and our doubts and the fact that we don’t really love ourselves, and we blame other people from it. I am super skinny in comparison to her ….And Im an ex ballerina. And do I feel comfortable on the beach or anywhere else? No I don’t. And beach is a nightmare too for me. It is all in our heads. We think it is other who hate us or are looking bad at us because thats what we have decided to see in others eyes and in fact we are encouraging such behaviour in others and then we blame them from it.. The fact is she is not thin. But who cares? It is she who is comparing herself. No one hates her because she is not thin. Its her !
