Theia creative director Don O’Neill chose family, rather than Hollywood glamour, as his inspiration for Jolie’s wedding gown (at left). “I envisioned Angelina as a wholesome, sophisticated vision of the bride that her children imagine her to be, not her sexy red-carpet signature style,” he says. His fantasy design features a long-sleeve silhouette of French Chantilly lace over a corseted sweetheart bodice in silk mousseline and organza with a tulle-appliqué hem. “The dramatic silk-tulle veil is trimmed with lace to add mystery and allure,” the designer adds. Wouldn’t you love it if your mother had this dress to pass down?
O’Neill used the haircut heard ’round the world—Aniston’s “Rachel” style from the second season of Friends—as inspiration for this one-of-a-kind wedding dress. “Jennifer has a wonderful relaxed style, which is created by her signature haircut,” explains O’Neill. “I felt the sporty look of a backless halter dress paired with the romance of a mermaid skirt would be perfect.” The French Chantilly-lace gown achieves a textural look with re-embroidered silk thread and microbeading over a nude silk-georgette lining. The skirt’s mixture of gazar, tulle, and organza creates “an ethereal cloud to accentuate Jennifer’s beautiful figure.”
