White sneakers, spotless. That step by step, experience to experience, are worn until the white goes, first sensing and then discovering entirely, its initial color. That’s the result of the first sneakers Converse collaboration with the enigmatic french house ,Maison Martin Margiela.
This first collaboration, as we say, includes the sneakers Chuck Taylor All Star and Jack Purcell. Both have been hand painted with white paint by the iconic French brand. The paint layer covering the entire fabric, eyelets, laces and outsole of the shoe and these will be cracking and stripping of its outer layer of paint naturally with the passage of time, to reveal the original colors underneath” explained a spoke person of Converse. Once the courts are used and accumulate miles of steps, unveiled red, black, dark blue and yellow hide under the first skin.”The Maison has always been obsessed with white; it is used as a layer to give an incognito feeling,” the house said in a statement, “a sort of poetry. With the passage of time, the shoe asserts itself.”
“Both brands are known for their individuality, self-expression and desire to unleash creativity. That is something the collection embodies perfectly.” says Matt Sleep, head designer at Converse.
