On thursday ended New York’s Fashion Week , dedicated to the season of spring/summer 2014 . Today , summing it up, we can talk about what drew our attention backstage, impressions, more precisely, about the beauty trends of the next season.
First, the focus was on color , and the color in all its manifestations. A trend was the bright matte lipstick. We saw bright lips at Altuzarra and Prabal Gurung, at the Marchesa and Nanette Lepore shows, DKNY and Rag & Bone, and this list could go on .The popular colors : spring favors Orange and cool-pink, similar to the hue of the American chewing gum.
The eye make-up is in beige and steel smokey eyes (Jason Wu and Jill Stuart), little arrows (Tory Burch and Chado Ralph Rucci), false eyelashes (Carolina Herrera), pastel haze (Donna Karan and Tommy Hilfiger) and pure solid colors ( Marc by Marc Jacobs and Costello Tagliapietra).Skin color is still light, with an emphasis on its natural smoothness and beauty. And if you get bored, you can add a touch of blush (for examples look at Helmut Lang, DKNY and Donna Karan).
The spring/summer 2014 season it’s time to explore new options for hair styling without the emphasis on a particular era . Smooth low tails and flowing hair you can see at DKNY, Victoria Beckham, Helmut Lang, Prabal Gurung , and Rag & Bone.
In general , a little bit of everything from wavy tresses (Thakoon) to loops of hair (Carolina Herrera),wet hair (3.1 Phillip Lim) to feathers (Marhesa), a bit of the 60s (Jeremy Scott ) to Joan of Arc haircut (Marc Jacobs). As you can see, there’s plenty to choose from .
So far it is quite discreet, with a focus on either very dark or very light shades. Some experts used milky shades while others bet : blue, green, black , brown , peach and lilac.
