After 300 years at the top of the luxury sector, the House of Meissen renews itself: the craft manufacture that is specializes in high jewelery, porcelain and interior design is launching a couture collection made in Italy under the creative direction of Frida Weyer( Berlin-based designer).
At the presentation, held yesterday in the courtyard of the historic Villa Meissen in Via Montenapoleone in Milan, were presented 17 outfits inspired by the shapes and decorations from the historical archive of Meissen, which was established in 1710 by King Augustus II. The collection consists of evening dresses, cocktail and wedding gowns, a traditional inspiration but with a contemporary twist. In addition to the couture line, was also presented the accessories collection: 80 scarves, silk scarves and ties, as well as a line of leather bags that can be made with a unique design hand-painted by the artisans of the house.
The CEO of Meissen Christian Kurtzke, the chairman of Meissen Italian Paolo Novembri and designer Frida Weyer welcomed last night, among others, the chief of Vogue Italy Franca Sozzani, the supermodel Nadja Auermann and Karolina Kurkova, Suzy Menkes, Marta Marzotto, JJ Martin, James Goldstein .
