The half-billion-dollars remake of the iconic Hair & Jewel by Graff

The new version of the legendary photos of Hair & Jewel, with wich Graff literally conquered the world.

Graff, speaking about the original concept said, “Until this time, images showing fine jewelry were typically modeled in a more conservative style. This image broke the mold by using a younger model and created the idea of diamonds being aspirational to younger women.Hair & Jewel created an interest and excitement for the jewelry crafted by Graff, which continues to this day.”

This year marks 60 years since the beginning of his professional activity Laurence Graff , whose diamond empire is known worldwide as a manufacturer of unique jewelry with large stones . After more than forty years, the iconic picture Hair & Jewel again is recreated in much more expensive version: the jewels that adorned the hair of the model have a total cost of half a billion dollars.

The hair of model Dalia Gunther was crafted by Eamonn Hughes using 22 rare jewels created at Graff’s headquarters in London. The image was photographed by David Slijper. Among the 22 unique jewelry there are a few notable rarities . For example, three large diamond “heart cut “, Graff Sweethearts, as well as other jewelry, obtained from the 550 carats diamond of Letšeng Star, one of the largest in the history of the world.

“It is more than 40 years since the original image of Hair & Jewel was captured,” Graff said. “The recreation marks an important milestone in Graff Diamonds’ history and coincides with the opening of its 40th store globally.”
