If a beauty brand beauty celebrates 180 years and still has the reputation and recognition of one of the names on the crest of the wave in terms of make-up there is a reason .The British brand Rimmel just celebrated its 180’s anniversary with a select elite of experts and industry insiders with a very stylish event that was held in London and it its muses Kate Moss and Georgia May Jagger, and last but not least the singer Rita Ora , new entry in the team of Rimmel , with and an exclusive collection of limited edition of nail polish and lipsticks in warm colors for spring 2014.
Incredible creator of trends and promoter of London fashionable look as far back as 1834 Rimmel could not choose better as location for the event, the Savoy Hotel, in Central London, just meters from where it was its first office in 1860 , for the workshops, interviews and make-up tutorial and then that of the Museum of Cinema in Covent Garden for the celebratory party .
Kate Moss and Georgia May Jagger, arrived in the legendary branded Rimmel London black cab for the occasion.A fashion show commemorating 18 models with iconic looks describing the evolution of fashion and make-up of the last 180 years from 1834 to 2014 . Rita Ora dressed in Moschino , has embodied the style of the contemporary London and closed the show by singing her singles Shiner Light Ya , Hey Ya and RIP supported by Dj Fat Tony , dear friend of Kate Moss, who animated the party .
A unique day , as was Eugene Rimmel , the talented perfumer born in 1820 who founded the empire in 1834 when he moved from France to London to open its first shop in Bond Street. A man who in times when ” marketing” was not born yet, had the idea to” advertise ” his brand by printing the address of the store on fliers distributed at the Royal Opera House in London. He also invented the first “non- toxic” mascara , also known even today, just as ” rimmel ” . So…. Happy Birthday Rimmel , we wish you another great 180 years !

Rimmel was definitely ahead of his time. This was an excellent history lesson. And I dig that pink jacket – I’d buy that for my oldest daughter!
