When you say Haute Couture your mind flies at a red carpet event ,breath-taking gowns ,exquisite fabrics and embellishments ,exceptional handicraft, unaffordable and many times uncomfortable. When you think at sneakers probably what comes to your mind are gym, street, comfortable, affordable ,sporty, sporty-chic ,mass-produced.
Taking a look at this two you get the idea that these terms are antithetical. No matter how luxurious a sneaker would be ,it will never be an haute couture piece! Well let me tell you things are to change! And here is the proof : On Monday at Christian Dior Haute Couture spring/summer 2014 fashion show, the creative director Raf Simons introduced the haute couture sneaker followed on Tuesday by Karl Lagerfeld at Chanel .
Among architectural high heels at Dior,Raf Simons send models down the runaway in black slip-ons trainers(or aqua socks) adorned with colorful stars and little flowers . Lagerfeld opted for a classic version and paired the entire collection with sneakers . “Every outfit featured a couture sneaker by Massaro: python, with lace, pearls, and tweed. (If you’re curious about the cost of such an item, the price tag will probably be something in the vicinity of €3,000.) “-style.com
