Winona Ryder covers Red magazine April 2014

The 42-year-old actress Winona Ryder is the cover girl of Red Magazine April 2014 issue . Dressed in looks from the spring collections of Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Saint Laurent by Hedi Slimane and others, Ryder poses for photographer Max Abadian in a photo spread styled by Nicola Rose.

In an interview for the magazine the actress talks about her younger years in the spotlight, fashion and shopping on a budget.

On her past : “My early thirties were rough. I went through stuff that I would have gone through, and probably should have gone through much younger, but I had spent my twenties working. Even when I was the right age for older roles, people thought of me as being younger. It was tough because I’d had so much success in my early twenties.”

On fashion : “Most of my wardrobe is vintage and I’ve worn dresses to the Oscars that I got for $10. At Sean Penn‘s last Haiti gala I wore this vintage dress that I’d worn to a film premiere in 2005. I know that’s kind of a no-no in the fashion world, but why wear something just once if you love it?”

On future : “[I’m] waiting for the thing that gives me that feeling. I’ve been trying to write [David Simon of The Wire] a letter to tell him I want to work with him. But how do you write a letter to a writer? He’s the person that I hope to work with one day.”
