Founder of the American brand Tommy Hilfiger is negotiating the purchase of The Raleigh Hotel in Miami. The transaction should be completed in the next month.
While his colleagues actively create the interiors of new hotels , Tommy Hilfiger took a step forward. The designer is one step away from signing the papers for buying The Raleigh Hotel in South Beach area in Miami. The hotel is an Art Deco landmark built in 1940 and has 100 rooms, a pool and several restaurants. According to sources the cost of the hotel is estimated at $100 million. “We will create a whole new dining experience,” said Hilfiger. He said the hotel “needs a full redo. It’s a bit dated.”
Currently the hotel is owned by New York-based developer David Edelstein (owner of the W Hotel in Miami ) and hotelier Sam Nazaryan (SLS South Beach) who seems to be ready to sign the selling papers.
“I’m in the process of buying it from them. I’ve always wanted a hotel property. We’re going to turn it into a five-star chic hotel with all the amenities,” said Hilfiger Wednesday.
According to WWD.com this is the first step toward launching Hilfiger Hospitality — a hospitality experience centered on fashion, art, music and entertainment.
