The ‘Transformations’ collection is the first one in a series created by Marian Newman, a nail expert. for MAC .

The new collection that will hit the stores in July is comprised by six semi-sheer polishes that can be used alone or as a top coat on an existing nail color : three pearlised Liquid Pigment polishes in pink, green and gold; a sheer blue Highlight, Texturize and Shadow, which applied on top of any other nail polish color will darken its hue .

“MAC is primarily about make-up, and so this collection is like make-up for the nails. In the same way that make-up transforms the face, these transform the nails – which is why I’ve included a shadow and a highlight, to add depth and to make colour really pop in the same way that you would with the face,” Newman said to Vogue UK. “They can even be combined together. There’s room to play, which is what the MAC customer loves to do. I wanted to create something that was almost like a grown-up version of nail art, getting back to something chic, and very simple, but that you can be playful with.”

The ‘Transformations’ collection will be followed later this year by another one called ‘A Novel Romance’ .
