The kaiser of fashion in person has bothered to put his signature on the sexy doll produced by Mattel who is celebrating Barbie’s 55th birthday this year.

The inspiration is given by the unique style of Karl Lagerfeld: Barbie assume the role of the designer borrowing the iconic image of the designer.

“Working with Karl Lagerfeld for this unique collaboration is a great honor for me,” says Kim Culmone, Vice President of Global Product Design of Barbie, adding “It’s not everyday that Barbie dresses like the world’s most famous fashion designer.”

Barbie Lagerfeld wears a suit with a tailored black jacket, white shirt male with high collar and cuffs, a satin tie and a black tight-fitting jeans. The outfit is embellished with exclusive accessories such as gloves blacks in driver style, sunglasses, boots and blacks handbag in black leather with silver metal details all signature style of the German designer.

“It was really fun to dress Barbie for both Karl and the team,” said Pier Paolo Righi, CEO & President Karl Lagerfeld.

The limited-edition doll which will be released this autumn, is poised to make inroads in the hearts of the designer’s fans.
