A Place Like No Other:Capri

By the 50′s, Capri had become a byword for glamor and a magnet for the international jet set: the likes of Jacqueline Kennedy and Truman Capote mixed and mingled with Italy’s beautiful people on their annual vacations. The island’s inherent fashion-consciousness is, these days, exemplified by the myriad designer boutiques from Prada to Armani and Dolce & Gabbana that line the streets of Capri Town offering slick, shiny contrasts to its pebble- strewn bays and sandy beaches.

The Italian marina of Capri topped Wealth Bulletin’s list as one of three of the world’s most expensive marinas. At US $3,910 per night, this marina maintained the highest average prices to moor boats over 78 feet.
