Every year, UNICEF unites the greatest fashion designers, jewelers, designers and artists to create dolls for Les Frimousses de Créateurs initiative that helps promote the vaccination of children, “the 100% goal: immunize every child” in Darfur, Sudan.
In its 12th edition, the project brought together forty-four names as Chanel, Gucci, Dior, Lanvin, Sonia Rykiel, Chantal Thomass, regular participants, as well other new brands as lingerie brand, Maison Lejaby and Louis Quatorze, leather goods . To raise funds, more than 80 unique and unusual dolls are auctioned. Each year a theme is imposed on designers: after last year’s “Pari(s) merveilleux” this year the theme is Opera. The ballet dancer, Nicolas Le Riche and opera singer, Natalie Dessay are the ambassadors of this edition.
From 18 to 23 of November, the dolls will be on display at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. The next day, they will be auctioned by Artcurial at the starting price of 700 euros each.
