H&M’s Recycled Denim Capsule

A year after launching its garment recycling initiative in February 2013, the Swedish retailer is set to launch its H&M Recycled Denim Capsule . Five denim pieces for both men and women compose the collection and they will be available in selected stores this February.

The line is the result of a program where customers donated unwanted clothing to any of the retail locations in 53 with the purpose to eliminate waste and decrease the environmental impact of the manufacturing process. They also hope to “find a solution for the reuse and recycling of textile fibers”. According to hm.charitystar.com. they have already collected 7.7 million pounds of used clothing worldwide.

“We are working increasingly with recycled materials, and as a designer, it is very important to create pieces taking into account the latest trends, but also technical developments in this field,” said H&M designer Jon Loman. “We are proud to offer environmentally friendly products, in which our clients and we believe.”
