Last night in Hollywood at the 2013 Emmy Awards ceremony, which was held for the 65th time and where the American Academy of Television handed awards to the best projects of the year : a real triumph of the evening was the “Breaking Bad” (was named best drama show) but also “Mad Men ,” ” Borgias ,” ” Game of Thrones “. Some of the winners are Claire Danes (best dramatic actress), Jim Parsons (best comedy actor), Julia Louis-Dreyfus (best comedy actress), Michael Douglas (best actor in a mini-series) and Merritt Weaver (supporting best actress in a comedy series).
But here at The CoF we paid special attention to the girls on the red carpet and chose some of the best looks on the red carpet.(I have to admit that nothing memorable, but this is just my opinion.)

Some of the outfits are… interesting…
I can’t say I love any of those looks and some of them are utterly awful. I am pretty sure Connie Britton is wearing a sofa my grandmother used to have. Robin Wright and Amanda Peete look like they’re going to the same funeral… and Julianne Hough clearly thinks she is Miley Cyrus.
AGREED! Julianne Hough looks like she didn’t know a beach-wrap made of tchotchke curtains wasn’t proper red-carpet attire. Any outfit that involves showing off the underwear demarcation zone is a huge red flag.

stunning dresses
I knew there was a reason I didn’t watch the Emmy’s! Your blog filled the need. Am I the only one who thinks that shade of puce/fleshy-pink tone looks awful on Claire Daines and January Jones? It’s so wrong for their complexions; they look washed-out and sallow.
A+ for Kerry Washington and that Marchesa number. Oh lá lá!
I agree the style was VERY predictable and nothing was totally unexpected…ie Sofia Vergara ooozing out of her dress. Also gowns were very bridal wear inspired just as they were last year. i think Ana Faris was refreshing in lemony goodness. I do love all the blush tones as well. Great post as always!
Great choices with the exception of Julianne Hough and Amanda Peet who weren’t appealing!
There were a lot of ladies on the red carpet who absolutely stunned (not posted here), but that’s in my opinion. I get what you mean, there was quite a handful who just missed the wow-factor, especially those who’ve been out on the red carpet runs time and time again. Have a look at my list for more of the ladies.
PS: where did you get all your HQ photos from? x
